welcomed the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (‘the Act’). The purpose of the Act is consistent with our goals and values, such as to be the employer of choice and to ensure our all of our places of work are made as safe as possible.

This statement is made and published in accordance with s54 of the Act and is a statement of the steps that our organisation has taken during this financial year to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place (i) in any of our supply chains and (ii) in any part of our own business.

We have carried out a review of our supply chain (direct suppliers to Mactaggart & Mickel) and are comfortable that the organisations that form our supply chain present a low risk in terms of slavery and trafficking activities. Our supply chain includes contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers of products, professional consultancies such as architects and engineers and professional service providers such as accountants and lawyers.

We value the trusted and long term relationships we have within our supply chain. We expect our supply chain to adhere to and support our goals and values. Since the introduction of the Act in 2015, we have written to our existing supply chain to bring the Act to their attention and remind them of the duties under it.

We have introduced a Prevention of Modern Slavery Policy into our business. We are taking steps to integrate this policy into our supply chain’s terms and conditions. We have also updated our selection and verification process for new members of the supply chain in order to highlight the risks of modern slavery.

We remain committed to being vigilant to the risks of slavery and trafficking activities and have a number of awareness raising initiatives in progress with both our supply chain and at all our locations of operation. We provide training to our employees on this issue.

All our employees are employed in the UK upon terms that are in accordance with applicable UK legislation. In our effort to be the employer of choice, all our employees (except apprentices) are paid as a minimum, the UK living wage and we strive to provide the best working conditions for all our employees both on construction sites and in the office. Our apprentices are paid in accordance with the terms of the modern apprenticeship scheme.

We shall continue to review our own policies and procedures over the next financial year and take such further appropriate steps to ensure slavery and trafficking are not present in our supply chain.

Approved by the Board of Directors of Mactaggart & Mickel Group Limited and signed by Ed Monaghan, CEO on the 31st August 2021.
